Food Review: Halo-Halo

              4 out of 5 stars

What makes Aling Foping’s special halo-halo extra special from all the other halo-halo out there? Well, I don’t know really, it could be the super fine ice or the way that we could choose 6 toppings from many choices that we can put on our order. Whatever it is, it’s extremely effective. Each ingredient is mysterious as we don’t know where they bought it or if it’s homemade. The leche flan particularly is the most distinctive among all the ingredients, well at least for me. It’s so creamy and not sooo sweet, and I just love it. Overall, Aling Foping's halo2x is the best halo2x I’ve ever tasted so far.

Aling Foping’s is located at Matina Town Square, opens everyday, 2pm onwards. :)

Located at the corner of Matina Town Square is one of the best if not THE BEST halo-halo making store. It is definitely a favorite. Aling Foping’s has added a new twist to what is perhaps the traditional halo-halo experience. At Aling Foping’s not only do you get to taste halo-halo, but you also get to make it, which for me is a total plus. From a list that they will give you, you get to pick six ingredients. From banana, to sago, leche flan, ube, langka, nata de coco ice cream and so much more you can choose to can go in to your customized halo-halo.
I absolutely enjoyed my halo-halo both from choosing the ingredients to tasting it. It differs from the rest because while some halo-halo is dominated by just crushed ice, this one is dominated by my favorite halo-halo ingredients. And all the ingredients tasted good. The langka was not too ripe, the ube was creamy, the leche flan was not too sweet that it might dominate the rest of the halo-halo. This one is certified best halo-halo experience.
